All markets have changed in recent years, and the art market is no exception. There is still time for us to be realists, and we recognise the value of iconic works such as those of Velázquez, Van Gogh and Georgia O’Keeffe. The aforementioned, and a thousand others, will never lose their significance, but it is quite likely that in the future all their creations will be transformed into NFTs.
Can you imagine having a certified digital copy of Bosch’s “Garden of Earthly Delights” in your personal collection? This is precisely what is happening today (and it is only the beginning) in the art market.

Evolution of digital art with NFTs

Acquiring a work of art used to be a luxury reserved for the few; now, with just a mobile phone and a digital wallet, anyone can collect digital art from around the world. This democratisation has allowed creators (both emerging and established) who in the past did not have access to traditional galleries to show their work on a global stage.
The market for NFTs has reached impressive figures. From the first digital artwork to the explosion of sales in 2021, with transactions reaching 91.8 million dollars (The Merge), it has become a space where both artists and collectors have found endless possibilities and a new channel for exhibition and business.

TU Gallery: digital art within everyone’s reach

In this context, at TU we are strongly committed to digital art and NFTs. Through TU Gallery, we have created an innovative space where digital artists can exhibit and sell their work in a secure and accessible environment, bringing creators to a global audience without the need for traditional intermediaries such as physical galleries.
TU Gallery is not just a marketplace for NFTs, but a comprehensive platform that connects creators and collectors in search of exclusive, high-quality content. Its value proposition focuses on providing tangible benefits to each digital piece, offering additional benefits that enrich the buyer’s experience.
The incorporation process for creators is very accessible, breaking down one of the major barriers that existed in the past. By simply entering an email address, password, and connecting their Metamask wallet, artists can start building their collections within minutes.

TU Gallery integrates Web3 and off-chain technology into its digital art digital art collections

TU Gallery integrates Web3 technologies to allow creators to design their “off-chain” collections, i.e. outside the blockchain. This functionality means that steps before the launch of collections, such as creation and preview, do not directly require the intervention of the blockchain, streamlining the creative process and providing a user-friendly interface.
When a collection is ready to be launched, it is then registered on the blockchain via the ERC-721 contract. To host these digital assets, TU Gallery uses the Polygon network, a blockchain known for its security and transaction efficiency. This ensures that purchases and sales of NFTs are conducted in a transparent and secure manner.

In addition to Web3, the Metaverse is also of particular importance in the art world. On these platforms we can find virtual spaces where artists can share their creations in a completely different way to the traditional one. Paintings, for example, are no longer just hung on a wall, but can be enjoyed on another level: new textures, dimensions or interactive environments.
In this context, Movistar has the immersive art museum “Universe Inside You”, a place created in collaboration with Okuda San Miguel at Movistar Experiencia Inmersiva. This unique experience immerses users in a virtual world full of colour and geometric shapes characteristic of the artist.
To enjoy Movistar Immersive Experience, you can download Movistar Immersive Experience and enjoy this unique adventure with your Meta Quest glasses.

Not a Movistar customer? It doesn’t matter! The virtual world is available to all. If you don’t have a Meta Quest, you can easily get your glasses on the Movistar website.
What’s more, one of the most prominent applications of immersive technology has been by museums, which, through virtual tours of their art collections, allow visitors to “walk” among the works, making the experience even more enriching, as well as accessible.
