The Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona is just around the corner, and at Telefónica Innovación Digital we are here in force to show how technology transforms the present and prepares the future. This year, we are carrying different products from the TU family: Latch, Wallet, VerifAI and Quantum Encryption, each designed to offer innovative solutions in security, Web3 and metaverse or quantum technology.
In our space, attendees will discover how the technology we develop not only protects users and businesses, but also redefines the way we interact with the digital world. From tools that strengthen cybersecurity to breakthroughs that explore the potential of quantum computing, we are bringing an ecosystem of solutions that leads the way to a safer, smarter and more connected digital environment.
At MWC, we will share use cases, interactive demos and talks by our experts such as Chema Alonso and Yaiza Rubio, demonstrating how these products are driving the evolution of technology. TU Latch: a platform for authorisation control
In today’s digitized world, where cybersecurity is increasingly crucial, Latch arrives at Mobile World Congress 2025 as an innovative solution to protect access and authorization in digital services.During the event, we will show how this tool allows companies and users to add an extra layer of security in a simple and intuitive way, controlling who, how and when they access their digital services and perform operations within apps. With interactive demos and case studies, attendees will discover why Latch is an essential tool to ensure digital protection.
Yaiza Rubio and Javier Espinosa will be the speakers at the talk Cybercriminals with credentials. They will explain how to protect digital services against cyber threats and cybercriminals, in different aspects.
TU Wallet: a multi-crypto digital wallet
At Telefónica we work to promote digital accessibility, simplifying access to new technologies, such as the world of cryptocurrencies, and making Web3 tools available to everyone. With Wallet we want to get rid of the complexities of the crypto world and simplify it so that everyone can start using cryptocurrencies in an easy, fast and accessible way.
Wallet is a multi-cryptocurrency digital wallet that allows you to manage cryptocurrencies and euros securely and efficiently in one place. From the app, available for Android and iOS, users can buy, sell, send and pay with cryptocurrencies quickly and easily, all from their mobile device.
As a new feature, Wallet will now integrate advanced security tools in different operations within the app, with Telefónica Open Gateway’s Number Verification and SIM Swap APIs. Thanks to this, it automatically verifies, on the one hand, the user’s identity based on their phone number, and, on the other hand, that there has been no change in the status of their SIM. Both checks are carried out automatically, without the user having to take any action. The user only has to activate it beforehand in the “Settings” section of the app.
TU VerifAI: Artificial Intelligence-generated content detector
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a topic that could not be left out in such a major event related to innovation and technology. VerifAI is our advanced AI-generated or AI-modified content detection tool to help businesses and users protect themselves against the dangers of deepfakes.
VerifAI analyzes, in real time, audio, image or video content that has been manipulated by Artificial Intelligence, solving different needs.
The use of such tools is increasingly necessary to combat misinformation, as well as to prevent fraud and cybersecurity issues, such as identity theft or content falsification, modified by AI.
Susana Jurado, Head of Venture Building, and Francisco Ramírez, Cybersecurity and AI Research, will participate in the talk Security in the age of AI together with technology partners Hiya Inc and Telefónica Tech. We will explore how we prevent threats linked to the misuse of artificial intelligence through comprehensive cybersecurity solutions, backed by the Digital Operations Centre and Telefónica Tech’s global network of SOCs.
TU Quantum Encryption: advanced security for the new digital age
Quantum technology, which until recently sounded a long way off, is already transforming the digital world. Its ability to process information and solve complex problems far exceeds that of today’s computers. However, this revolution also brings new challenges: the encryption systems that protect information today will not be able to cope with the power of quantum computing.
ybercriminals are capturing encrypted data, known as Store now, decrypt later (SNDL), and any company with long-lived sensitive data is at risk of that data being decrypted while it is still confidential. That’s why companies need to anticipate and protect their strategic information now.
At Telefónica, we are evolving our networks to make them Quantum-Safe. Our goal is clear: to prepare networks for a future where security will not be compromised, even in the age of quantum computing. At the event we will tell you about the latest developments we are making; you will be surprised!
For our part, Antonio Guzmán, and Xiaoyuan Yang, Head of Prototyping, will take part in the talk Showcase: Quantum-Safe Technologies at Telefónica. During the session, the company’s work on the integration of quantum technologies into the telco infrastructure, its impact on the sector and current solutions that respond to real market needs will be presented. These solutions are already being developed by partners such as Halotech, Quside, Subsea Mechatronics or XRF.
