With the rise of online transactions and the growing interest in cryptocurrencies, users are looking for tools that offer convenience and protection against cyber threats. In this context, TU Wallet is an innovative solution that combines ease of use with advanced security measures.
Wallet is designed to manage cryptocurrencies and euros easily and securely. This app offers a full range of digital financial services, from buying and slling Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and other popular cryptocurrencies, to making payments and sending cryptocurrencies, all bundled into one platform.
In a strategic move to further strengthen its position as one of the most secure digital wallets in the market, Wallet has taken a step forward by incorporating technologies provided by Telefónica Open Gateway. This integration, in addition to showing Telefónica’s commitment to the fintech sector, raises the security standard for cryptocurrency wallets.
Strengthening the security of TU Wallet with Telefónica Open Gateway
To reinforce the security of digital assets and mitigate risks associated with fraud, in addition to the traditional risks that other wallets may have, Wallet has integrated two Telefónica Open Gateway network APIs.
The SIM Swap API, which can detect crimes related to duplicate or changed SIM cards, one of the most common techniques used in phishing attacks. This tool provides information on the latest SIM card change, enabling the identification of possible fraudulent activity, providing an additional layer of protection.
The API Number Verification which ensures that the phone number linked to the account is indeed that of the device in use, reducing the possibility of unauthorised access and strengthening authentication mechanisms. The API automatically checks whether the SIM card is associated with a certain phone number (MSISDN).
These additional layers of security complement Wallet’s protection without affecting its usability, offering an extra defence against cyber fraud and identity theft.
