On 17 October, Telefónica will open the doors of its head offices in Madrid to hold Telefónica Innovation Day 2024, one of the most eagerly awaited innovation events of the year, organised by Telefónica Innovación Digital. Throughout the day, attendees will be able to find out more about the cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the digital world of the future through the power of connections, networking and innovation.
Under the event slogan, (Un)Expected Connections, TU will present some of its commercial products stemming from the Ideas Locas and What Ifs teams to address the current-day cybersecurity challenges. These include Latch, which provides an additional layer of security by means of digital latches, VerifAI and Metashield. However, these products are just some examples of what TU has in store for Telefónica Innovation Day.
It will all start at 4:00 pm under the direction of Chema Alonso, the Chief Digital Officer of Telefónica Innovación Digital. The participants will be able to enjoy a varied programme combining presentations, technological demos and an area for connecting and pooling ideas with other professionals in the sector.
Telefónica Innovation Day 2024 schedule
Telefónica Innovation Day 2024 will provide an opportunity to find out how the integration of different technologies is opening new doors in the technology sector. In his keynote Chema Alonso will present the latest product and service innovations, including Telefónica Open Gateway, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Edge Computing and Cybersecurity.

On Telefónica Innovation Day 2024 TU will present different technologies designed to address the most important challenges facing the digital sphere.
Latch
We’re referring to products such as Latch, a two-factor authorisation (2FAuth) solution designed to protect digital identities against cyberattacks. By means of digital latches, it enables users and companies to easily manage the security of their online services by adding an extra layer with one-time passwords (OTPs) and TOTP and HOTP algorithms. This tool also offers real-time data retrieval and compatibility with Web3.

Metashield
We’ll also discuss Metashield, a solution that helps companies and individuals to prevent leaks by cleaning up metadata, hidden information and lost data in shared documents, images and files.
VerifAI beta
Finally, visitors will be able to take a closer look at the VerifAI beta tool, which allows users to browse safely by detecting deep fakesand content manipulated by Artificial Intelligence (AI). This tool can identify fake videos and images that may lead to confusion or misinformation.
But that’s not all! TU has prepared lots of surprises and additional innovations that you’ll be able to see during the day and try out for yourselves in its corner in the Connecting Ground.
Other demonstrations on Telefónica Innovation Day
In addition to TU’s presentation, Telefónica Innovation Day will feature areas in which visitors can learn about and explore the most innovative technologies the company has been working on.
Ranging from the advanced APIs of Telefónica Open Gateway and the different startups promoted by Wayra to Movistar’s home devices and the new versions of Web3 and the Metaverse, each corner will offer a unique and participatory experience. These areas will showcase the impact of the digital solutions that are transforming and driving different sectors.
